I painted this bird since it holds great symbolism in the 27th Surat in the Quran. It is the bird that Prophet and King Soloman communicated and conspired with to advance his kingdom. It is inspirational and an example of treating animals with kindness and respect. It is meant to signify wealth, kingship, and wisdom. This piece is 18x18" and made of acrylic paints on a wooden board. Although the hoopoe bird is garish I decided to paint it black and white.

My first portrait painting was more successful than I thought it would be. This woman reminds me of the beautiful women I grew up around and does not appeal to Western beauty standards

Using old Renaissance techniques and never using the color black, I was able to create a deep space painting of a dead flower by layering the primary colors on top of each other. This painting took me over 50 hours to finish. It is now slightly damaged from moving and will never be in this condition again.

I made this for a local art contest in my community but never submitted it. I was too afraid I wouldn't be good enough and regretted it a couple of weeks later. This piece evokes how I should always take the chance whatever it may be, this piece reminds me of my missed opportunities.
